Getting it Just Right

I had just finished reading Mitzi's letter to her.

Pause.

Then, "It's so warm and sounds just like me."

Pause.

"But there's something that's not sitting right with me. Will you read it again?"

So I did. Then we reworked a section before I read it aloud. "There's this one part that I'm having trouble with." And so I happily read it again.

There were no major changes. Mitzi was pleased with the content. We finessed certain sentences and specific words until the letter expressed her thoughts and feelings in just the way she wanted.

I read it from start to the final "I love you".

Pause.

And then, "I am so happy with my letter. It really is just perfect."
