Meeting the One

"Two guys and two girls got out (of the car) and starting walking towards us. I turned toward my friend and said, "I'm not sure I can play today. I think I have double vision!"

My friend said, "There ARE two of them."

One of the girls was Auntie Joyce and the other was your mom. Yes, TWINS!"

This story and image were etched in Len's brain. You should have heard the joy and amazement in his voice as he told me how he and his wife met.

Sharing these stories is true for those that still have their spouses by their sides and for those who are widowed. They recall how they met, fell in love and stay married. They also talk about what they miss and how they're getting on.

From my experience, I believe that people want to talk about their partners in life, even if it brings a few tears. When a spouse has died, there are all the many sweet memories that are heartwarming to recall and retell.

How did your parents meet? How did they know they were each the one?
